Bloomsburg University, established in 1839, is a comprehensive public institution within the fourteen-member Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, enrolls nearly 10,000 students in 56 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate programs. The University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, listed in US News & World Report Best Colleges as a Best Regional University, and a NCAA Division II member.
The AVP for Marketing & Communications is the chief spokesperson responsible for communicating the Bloomsburg University story and vision to both internal and external audiences to advance the university mission, while enhancing a climate of public and private support. Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the Associate Vice President (AVP) is responsible for all university marketing and communication strategies and programs. The AVP also provides recommendations on policy and action in the management of issues and crises affecting the university. The AVP will serve as a member of the division’s senior leadership team and the President’s Cabinet.
Position requirements include a master’s degree in marketing and/or communications, or related field and a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in areas of marketing, communications, and strategic planning. Qualified individuals must have exceptional leadership, budgetary, and organizational competencies as well as experiences designing and producing publications (including magazines), interactive web, and digital media.
